The name “Avalokiteshvara” translates to “The One Who Hears the Cries of the World” or “The Lord Who Looks Down with Compassion.” Avalokiteshvara embodies the quality of boundless compassion and is believed to assist beings in times of suffering. This bowl carries the Buddhist chant “Om Mani Padme Hum” associated with Avalokiteshvara which is invoked as a means to cultivate compassion, seek guidance, and alleviate suffering.
